Lisbon Bar Show 2019, the largest cocktail and hospitality event in the Iberian Peninsula, is back for a 6th edition on the 14th and 15th of May, at the Convento do Beato, in one of Lisbon’s most up and coming neighbourhoods. On top of numerous mixology and cocktail demonstrations, the two-day event will offer several talks and workshops with the biggest references of the international bartending scene. DCW magazine is happy to support the event as a media partner in Russia.
Lisbon Bar Show 2019
As is tradition, every year the Lisbon Bar Show hosts a guest country. This year it will be the UK, home to some of the best professionals in the industry, such as Joe Schofield, who will be headlining the event.
Named «International Barman of the Year» at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards and “Bartender’s Bartender” at The World’s 50 Best Bars in 2018, Schofield is the only person in the world to have won the two awards.
Also present will be Jake Burger, from Portobello Road Gin and the Ginstitute; Jim Wrigley, Bar Operations Manager for Bourne & Hollingsworth; Rémy Savage, Head bartender at the Artesian at The Langham Hotel; Tristan Stephenson, The Curious Bartender, Jared Brown, cocktail expert and Master distiller with Sipsmith of London, and global rum ambassador, Ian Burrell, to name just a few.
The ladies will also take centre stage this year, as several award-winning barmaids will be attending this edition of the Lisbon Bar Show. Speaking of hospitality, Veronica di Pietrantonio, manager of the Best Bar in the World, the Dandelyan (Mondrian Hotel, London), Maura Milia, of the Connaught Bar (Connaught Hotel, London), the 5th best bar in the world, and Enza de Luca of the Oriole, the 17th best bar in the world, will also be making an appearance.
Lisbon Bar Show Awards
One of the annual features of the Lisbon Bar Show is the Lisbon Bar Show Awards ceremony, which highlights and celebrates the best in the industry in Portugal.
Gastronomy will also be featured this year, with presentations by chef Rui Paula, a reference in the Portuguese gastronomic panorama, among other national chefs.
«The Lisbon Bar Show has become an authentic platform of knowledge and networking, through which suppliers, brands, bartenders, experts or simple cocktail lovers can keep abreast of the best of mixology and hospitality. We’re now a reference event in Europe and are proud to give visibility to what is being done in Portugal, but also to bring the biggest players and brands of the sector to our country,» says Alberto Pires, the event’s organiser, who this year will be hosting the best of Britain.
With more than 100 exhibitors, workshops, seminars and cocktail competitions, the Lisbon Bar Show is a reference in the hospitality world, whose main objective is to share the international trends of the sector with the Portuguese public and highlight quality beverages, brands and professionals.
