Last September The Mamont foundation presented MAMONT CAMP 2019. This year it gathered a star team to travel across wild and beautiful terrains of Russian North West known as Karelia. The real-men team consisted of Russian national opinion leaders, high-top chiefs and TV-stars. During this trip the whole idea of glamping was reconsidered. The camp was based at the shores of mystical and enchanting lake Lavijärvi. There is no road, so the team had to take helicopter to get there. And it was just the beginning. Find out more about MAMONT CAMP adventures in the article below. Let’s go!
STAR MAMONT CAMP IN KARELIA
From 11th to 19th of September the participants of the expedition explored mystical lands of Karelia and rediscovered their primal instincts. The team of northern adventurers included popular artists and stars of culinary.
Karelia was explored by: actor Gosha Kutsenko, Alexey Scherbakov and Azamat Musagaliev, showman Timur Batrutdinov, Edik Yakut, photographer Igor Starovoitov, fashion designer Denis Simachev, chiefs Artem Losev and Vitaly Istomin, chief-barmen Vitaly Bganzov and Alexander Borodulin.
Being a team they improved their path-finding skills, arched in fields and fished in silent waters of local lakes and springs, slept in woods under the opened sky.
GASTRONOMIC DISCOVERIES
Every evening desperate expediters gathered together for a dinner, cooked from fresh local Karelian ingredients. A culmination was a final dinner by Artem Losev and Vitaly Istomin, where every guest joined the process of preparations.
To make it happen, the participants had to use all the skills they had gained during the MAMONT CAMP: hunting, fishing and harvesting. Trout tartar was served with cucumber and spruce cone sauce. Fresh lake trout was pinned to wood and baked at opened fire.
The menu included smoked elk ribs, Onega sudak (pikeperch) under the roasted cones sauce, fresh vegetables, cooked with local herbs. For the dessert there was backed sour cream with chocolate and walnut.
The dinner had Food Pairing style: every dish was served by a cocktail made by Vitaly Bganzov. Each cocktail highlighted the taste of fresh cooked meal and gave a certain atmosphere.
MYSTERIOUS LANDS
Timur Batrutdinov fixed his unique experience at his popular comic YouTube show. Soon you can watch it on-line. Igor Starovoitov made a big series of photos, that you can now find at his blog.
Travelling across Karelia with MAMONT CAMP, expediters turned into the pioneers of ancient and mysterious lands. They experienced real beauty of life, learned traditions of hunters and harvesters, staying at the the comfortable atmosphere of glamping – high-end campground.
